Youtube Adsense and copywriting

Hello, I have searched online to get this question answered and cannot seem to get a good answer. So, thought I would try on here.

Question: If I'm uploading youtube videos and monetizing them (Adsense) would I be able to use news footage or anything else if making a documentary? Or even a political video (Footage of president, speeches...ect)

I read the guidelines on the youtube website but I noticed many highly viewed videos have news footage or some kind of video footage not created by the uploader. So, do they make money from it? Or, do they get a bunch of views but gain nothing from it...

It would be much appreciated if someone could help me out.

    Thanks very much
    Chris K

Yes you can, the likes of RWJ don't own the footage he uploads (although I can't imagine he actually uploads it himself now) but as it's "for review" it's ok. He does link to the people who make the videos so I would suggest doing so
