Im sure this has been answered but I had no idea what to search for. Okay heres an example: All things being equal(backlinks, onpage factors, etc.) Which would rank higher? example.com or example.bz
true, but on yahoo and msn I noticed its a LOT easier to rank higher with keywords in domain or the entire keyphrase as the domain.
At equal site, no difference whatsoever.... Unless, for targeted search, you put a .bz and not a .com, bz will show up before com
If all things are equal, I think .com should get the higher rank. Why? Because traffic also plays a factor in SE rankings and people are more likely to type .com than .bz --Joe
no difference .com's .net's are better in my opinion because more people are aware of them so if you have a car business car.com will do better then car.info just because more are aware of it.
yea im talking mainly for serps. not type in traffic. I know google is mainly backlinks but as said before my site with keywords in the domain get way higher ranking
I like to think of it as the 3 rules 1. keyword in domain 2. keyword in title 3. keyword in description you will be ranked higher on all search engines for example I own HotPS3Sites.com I have PS3 sites in the domain title and description I’m ranked 2-3 on Google on the keyword PS3 Sites
which will rank 1st it depends on all the factors together you will be 1st this week maybe 2 or 4 next week it goes back and forth. Also different ranks on different search engines.
.com and .net are more popular than some of the other ones available. However if you ahve a .ca or .co.uk - those sometimes will show up more when people are searching from those countries. its a tricky game - but overall - but a good site with content - and the SERPS will come a runnin
There is a factor affecting how domains rank depending on the TLD of the domain, but luckily there's really only 2 types of domain: Universal Domains: These are the .com, .net, etc and these aren't specified to a country so, as long as you get the right hosting, you'll be fine Country specific domains: These are .co.uk, .us, .fr, etc and these are bound to countries and rank naturally higher for country specific search engines (google.co.uk, google.fr) HTH
