90 - 100 words per minute is a typing speed, which is entirely different than a "writing" speed. Writing involves research, forming ideas and opinions, planning how to lay the material out, crafting the words in a way that conveys your overall meaning or goal, and then the typing is just a minor end to that process (then followed by proofreading, review, and more thorough edits of course).
wow, that's an interesting question. Let's see, if it's an area I am knowledgeable each time, it's truly only 400-500 words, everything is spelled out ahead of time as far as keywords, tone of voice, etc., and I never stopped writing in 10 hours I would say 24-30 articles. Granted this is guessing that I can't write for 10 hours straight without getting up, moving around, eating, and all the other things. The articles I'm doing right now on Poker felt it takes me about 20 minutes per article. Depends what day it is too. Some are gung-ho and others are ho-hum.
Really depends on what the topic is. Copy writing in terms of writing a sales letter is also different to article writing. I put in more thought into writing sales letters.
writers are not machines (at least I hope not). So the duration of an article really varies per assignment.
I was gifted with 145wpm at 12 years of age, though not so much speed really seems required, as I can't even think fast enough to keep up with my fingers. At least, not while I'm writing an article :X If I know my subject well, I can get about 400-500 words done in about 15-20 minutes, revision & correction included. My grammar is normally 100% correct, with a typo every 50 words or so. As always, though, I revise my articles, in case my thoughts slurred somewhere while typing the article.
From experience I can say that I can write about 5000 words in about fours to five hours, no matter what the topic or niche is. Actually, in the four to five hours, I research for one hour and then write out as fast as I can for the next few.
For me, it too depends on the content. If I don't have to do any research it can take an hour. In 'Bum Marketing' they say you should aim for 5 an hour. Not sure how the heck you do that.
