It should be more scalable than it was before since that was one of their major focuses for 4.0. Although 3.x was pretty good about scalability already. I certainly don't think they would make it less scalable.
Thats good. When i was with IPB this was the biggest issue for me because thier version 2 at that time used to give more server load . when i had then shifted to vb (the version 3) things became very smooth and fast now we have to see if vb4 modifications get affected due to the pricing issues
I think that is the route they are "trying" to go, but that can all be disabled if you don't want it.
Yea i agree after all not every1 would pay so much of cash just for a simple forum. i still remember when i use to use punbb i had the feeling of simplicity .. punbb is a forum software which can be called a pure forum software
The design looks like a 12 year old made it. Default speech bubble shipped out with photoshop? Come on... Jump ship and go to IPB which is looking way more professional. BTW..I use vbulletin sadly.
There's no doubt that VB is the most powerful forum software. I'm wondering about the other features. How are the VB 4 blog features as compared to Wordpress? How about the social networking aspect, as compared to something like Elgg?
vBulletin 4 is too bloated and many features needs to be removed and they need to stop hardcoding social sites in the vBulletin files instead make an interface where we can add out own. I won't be using vB 4 until they completly rewrite it (which is expected for later versions) and bugs have been fixed. vBulletin looks more server resourceful now more than ever and i think vB needs to consider speed and "bloat" when adding features. The features being requested on vB.com are outrages and i must say i have no need for 90 % of those being requested as i'm sure most out there have no need for also.
