Your views on the top 3 Search engines ie Google Yahoo Live Here is what I found out from my exp, YMMV !! Google : Has been good to me has indexed most of my pages, fairly good rank for my keywords. I have found it easy to rank on Google easier than the others Yahoo : Has indexed many pages ( < google ) but the rank for the same keywords are horrible / not ranked Live : Far few pages has been indexed but keywords are ranked higher I am not an expert in SEO, in fact I have learned every thing from here @ DP and other resources. So if anyone is in a generous mood feel free to throw some advise my way
Overall google is the best. Most of the results are relevant. This reason a very popular search engine. Its easy to be in top in google if you are the master in off-page optimization. But if you are the master in on-page optimization then its more easy to be top in yahoo and then in MSN.
Google commands a major market share in the search industry. So ranking high on Google should be your preferred choice. This may however from one industry vertical to the other and also from one country to the other. Also, it depends on which search engine is sending you the most traffic. Considering all these factors, the selection of search engine to be targeted should be made. It is very difficult to rank on all the search engines simultaneously since the factors used by them to rank a website varies.
Google has faster indexing but when it comes to ranking you can get rankings on 3 search engine if you can optimized your site for the 3 search engine since they have different algorithm.
Certainly google is the best. On 2006 according to searchenginewatch google dominate the market with 49.2%, yahoo 23.8% and MSN 9.6%. I think, google should have more market share now. So focus on google.
