Your thoughts on the "usefulness" of spam emails?

After yet another few wasted minutes sifting through my gmail spam folder (valid emails sometimes get sent there), a thought struck me.

Question: Have any of you ever found an affiliate program worth promoting from reading through your garbage emails?

Just curious. One spammail promoted a HGH product. Google HGH and there're tons of ads there.

If the company uses spam to find affiliates, propably they are a scam too.

For example see ExpoActive. Those folks used an automated spam system to contact webmasters, and after some months everybody knew that they were scam.....

Conventional wisdom would suggest that spammers promote products that are popular.

By virtue of their being spammers, they have already established that they focus on low hanging fruit.

I'd stay away from any affiliate program that tolerates affiliates who spam.

Thanks for the tips, Shwan and Nikolas - I hadn't considered the downsides before.

I never buy or promote ANYTHING from a spam mail on principal.
