Your Thoughts on Blog Comment Links - Does it Help Lift Google Rankings?

Blog commenting isn't as easy or effective as it used to be. I'd suggest other methods, such as building a link wheel.

 

in my own experience, i usually mix up both of these methods and i could rank really well with them

 

not sure if it help in pagerank, but my comments on blog actually bring me traffic consistantly....

 

I believe blog comments can give you good backlinks and if you are a blogger, they give you the best possible exposure in your niche. Most people want to take a shortcut on this and end up getting banned by Akismet. Take 1 hour out everyday make 5 to 10 comments and see the effect for yourself.

 

It depends on what kind of blogs you are commenting! If they are popular, have do-follow links and a high PR...YES, it helps increasing your Google PR!

 

Only really worth the effort if you can find a relevant, well moderated blog to comment on. Most with high PR are either nofollow or spammed to death

 

Absolutely. Certain blog posts can have a tremendous amount of authority. Usually though, commenting is closed, so your best bet is just to keep commenting on many timely blogs, in hopes of them becoming authority sometime down the road.

 

Blog comments can play a small part in helping your rank with the SERP's. Blog comments are not as effective as they used to be, towards counting as "good quality links".

Google will still count the Blog Comments, but if there are a high number of "outgoing" links on that page then it will have a lesser effect of the quality of your link.
