Ok, another question for you. Let's say I bought the domain name (new, not expired) golf-balls.com and I am trying to rank for golf balls will I still go into sandbox even though my domain name is relevant?

yes. well, more accurately, you'll be at risk for triggering the sandbox filters-- and most new sites DO trigger the filters. sites that don't are the exception.

I'm going to write up a big sandbox FAQ because the stickied one now is rather out of date and really... not good. :)

I know, I am little late to post comment on this, but..................

cannot resist to drop a word of appreciation.

Very interesting article. Did not thought existence of something like "never-sandboxed" domain. Thanks for sharing.

I am trying to do the very thing that you are talking about right now. I am trying to get a quick listing with a very old domain that I bought and had a site up but never really did anything with it. I will let you know it works in the real estate field mainly in the flat fee and also in the lingerie feilds.

Great bit of information. I had read up on the sandbox but this is a much more detailed treatise on the subject. Thanks for the information. Gota watch the domains I get.

    No

Sandbox was an Adwords tool from years ago,\

Some people who are clueless think that an aging delay, is a sandbox but its not.

Google is very business oriented and they know it takes years to build a business.

As such Google delays ranking new sites as these site need to earn trust, otherwise the sites could start spamming and harm googles reputation!!!!

    :)
