Actually, extremely incorrect.

If you do not notify anyone of your new postings, Google will not index your site. If you have wordpress on your site, you can notify wordpress of any changes through rss feeds. However, the best way to do it is to socially bookmark it (i do it around 25x), then take each rss feed and submit it to the rss aggregators (I do it 12x), and finally ping it (I do it at 13 different places).
