Looking through the DP forums, I see that in terms of actual "webmastering" areas, Google seems to be the most important factor (per forum posts). How much do you rely on Google (selling sites on basis of PR and indexed pages, traffic, money, advertising) ? What percent of your income comes from Adsense? Do you rely on Google heavily for visitors? If something were to happen between your relationship and Google, would it damage you as a webmaster?
If Google bans me, I'm doomed. Adsense is the main source of Income. Google sends me about 50% of my visitors. I use Google Analytics as my stat program. I also use Google Webmaster Tools.
Google provides site visitors who click ads for further information and Google pays me for helping web surfers get the information they require. If Google were to close down or my sites be banned my income would be reduced greatly until I changed to another company.
Unfortunately, this is very true... The only possibility is to diversify pages/incomes, but it can't help much i case of sudden change of terms and conditions by G.
Sites depend too much on Google and this is scary but a true fact. Almost more than 50% traffic for most of the webmasters comes from Google. We should not rely on G but its hard to avoid! More popular your site gets, traffic coming in from G increases at the same rate too.
PR is important to me, but Alexa rank is probably better as far as determining the true popularity of a site. Only a small amount of my income is AdSense-derived, though I am definitely hoping to increase this in the near future. Natural SEO does not bring very many hits to my current sites (they're all less than a month old). So to be honest, if something happened to Google, I could easily adjust. Even in terms of ad revenue, there are always other networks like AdBrite and Adversal.
A significant amount of my total passive income also comes from Google.. therefore, I am also rely on this Giant
