Your preferred contact channels for your customers

Hi all, I was wondering what you entrepreneurs’ preferred contact channels for your businesses were for customer service or inquiries et al.

By that I mean, does your website (or what-have-you) use a website form, direct customer service mail, calling you directly (what I use, since we’re so small), do you use gotvmail, have a machine-answering thing, or what? What’s most efficient?

    Thanks so much!

Depends on your size and operation, really. Small businesses in general get the “personal touch” advantage, since everyone likes to complain directly into someone’s ear rather than into a message machine, but for me it pays to have a touch of organization as well, like with a virtual phone or advanced 800 numbers or somesuch.

e-mail, and then follows the phone (it's more intimate and "disturbing" if you can say so, the e-mail is cool)

Generally I prefer to use email, as it can save a bit of time, as a response might not be necessary, and a phone isn't commanding my attention whenever there is a call for support or the like.
