    really?? What country is that?

Its important for which period it lost just 2 cents ?:)

In Russia for last 4 years it dropped from 32 to 25 roubles, which is like 22%.

In UK as well huge drop since 1970s.

    Egypt

For the past 2 years the USD = 5.69 EGP

But from 1 month or something - it went down to 5.60 EGP which makes it 0.09 EGP drop that eqauls ~0.02$.

As back in the 1970s - 1$ = 0.33 EGP - So yeah on the long term EGP was dropping dramatically :D

If a Democrat wins the next election the American Dollar Value will rise again significantly. I don't think we'll see a 1 CDN = .50 USD anytime soon however I think things will change for the better, right now we have what is called a Lame Duck president so any efforts on either political sides to try to fix our economic problems will be stopped by the other since each side has extremely different views on what should be done to improve the economy.

The Democrats want more government involvement and higher taxes for big business and Americas wealthiest and the Republicans want fewer taxes for Big Business, Less government involvement in the lives of its citizens and business and reduced Gun control so Business owners and Citizens can better protect what is theirs (Note these aren't my opinions just the facts).

Over the past 5 years the CAD has gained around 40 cents on the US dollar, not a big deal?

The fall of the USD and rise of the CAD is terrible for anyone who does business on the internet and is paid in USD, as it means less money for us. It also harms businesses trying to sell good in the United States, as they are less competitive now that the dollar is at par (before they had a serious bid advantage). The Canadian government should cut interest rates in order to bring the dollar back to a manageable level.

I don't think the Canadians are worrying about the high currency.

But I agree that it will hurt our exports.

That's true, but the high dollar is killing our exporters, who are seeing their profits decrease by approx. 35% from the days when the USD was $.65 CAD. A high loonie is not good for Canada's economy (excluding resources) because we don't have an advantage when bidding American jobs like we used to.

I think I'll start asking merchants to pay in Canadian Tire dollars.

I love the decline in the dollar.... especially when trading here on DP. I like it so much I made website http://www.dollardrops.com

I collect all recent data on the Dollar and combine it with analysis and exchange rates of the most traded currency.

I love the dollar decline... keep on falling! :)
