This weekend I will be making some changes to the Search Engine Decoder. Need to reflect the fact that Hotbot now pulls results from Ask rather than Ink. Ask has been making mini-moves as of late - they now have results in Lycos and Hotbot, plus I saw an Ask TV commercial the other day, first time in years. But, all that is besides the point - here's where I want your opinion, I will be removing Fast from the Decoder and replacing it with something else. What do you think that something else should be? My thoughts are either 'Clusty', which I have been using lately and really like or 'Gigablast', which is the 'Bucknell' of the search engine world. Perhaps Clusty should not be allowed because they are a meta-search engine and I should just include WiseNut? or maybe something else altogether? your thoughts? Legend : Needs purple arrow at bottom for ownership * Also does'nt FAST own alltheweb.com ? Could not get any option to show this. * Clicking on FAST or alltheweb.com does not show any relationships * I could not differentiate between paid and organic results * spent a minute and gave up after not expecting the relationships I was expecting to see
* Also does'nt FAST own alltheweb.com - no, Yahoo does * Clicking on FAST or alltheweb.com does not show any relationships - there really is no relationship these days, which is why I am replacing them, FAST is no longer a contender. * I could not differentiate between paid and organic results - paid is a yellow arrow
Thanks for the update. + By the way who owns alltheweb.com - I really liked them at one time. + Metacrawler is another one i use but there are so many SE's they are not a big player. + Just for information : I was rooting for Matt Dwells he wrote the awesome gigablast search engine but has not updated his blog for over a year http://www.gigablast.com/rants.html I am surprised his project has not taken off.
