I think it's actually quite cool as people do not tend to type like this anymore, only on purpose. Nowadays teenagers, as you say.. Some of them tend to write "yo wsup i LuW u @*~" but not in 1337.

Well in our country they use to type in their SMS. It's called gegemon. . It's kinda making faster type in cellphones.
