I'm discussing it on this thread because the OP says my opinion is irrelevant. Sure, I already have contacted my congressman, thanks, but I didn't need a reminder to do that. And if Israel expects to continue to receive my tax dollars, then Israel should consider my opinion.
No, you didn't get my point. A government doesn't work that way. A bunch of people at the top are responsible for everything. In other words, their decisions are considered the result of the collective consensus of the people of that country. So, if you have an issue as to how your tax dollars are spent, it should be discussed/argued only with your leaders, and not the beneficiary.
seriously you can just tell Israel not to accept money, of course anybody in the world will accept money when they are offer to them, and many do, so you need to tell you the government not to give money to countries. again that is hard to do as there's a lot of politics behind that. As this is a way for United States to control other countries, basically if it doesn't like their policy it will tell them change it or we will stop giving you money. But so far it seems like America supports Israel attack on Palestine.
The word for this is "arrogance." I wish more Israelis would express this point of view, it may help clarify the issue to those who are on the fence. As to the relevance of world opinion...a nation which does not care about the condemnation of the world is, frankly, doomed. You are showing the true colors of the Zionist creed. The world may not be able to stop the attacks on Gaza...but a day of reckoning will come. Someday, Israel will need the support of those you dismiss today. That support will not be forth coming. Activists helped victims of apartheid establish a democratic government in South Africa. May a democracy be established in Israel one day as well. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-6tABZpkl0k
It's cute that you think its alright to keep hundreds of thousands of people trapped in a ghetto, and once they get mad about living in a big prison you will sacrifice them even more for the happiness of ten thousand people. And not only that, you don't care about the opinions of other people regarding this matter. In summary, your post is pretty ridiculous at best.
No, i will not restrict my discussion to only those people YOU think I should communicate with. You don't get MY point. Please note, in the US we do change out our politicians based on whether or not they do what we want them to do. My opinion, and the opinion of the rest of the US DOES MATTER. Because that bunch of people at the top are there based on our voting for them. If enough of us tell them to stop supporting Israels policies, then they will change their decisions so they can stay in power. So my opinion matters. And my opinion is that Gaza is a ghetto, similar to the Warsaw ghetto. And I do not appreciate my tax dollars supporting the abuse and starvation of the people of Gaza. Now if the beneficiary of my tax dollars figures out how to stay secure without starving people and denying them medical supplies, then I will consider changing my opinion.
Israel is fighting an Islamic extremist group with basically the same ideology that those who bombed the World Trade Center have. The only difference is that this time those people have been elected and are currently the government of Gaza. They're not hiding in a cave, they're reachable and can be destroyed. I agree. Gaza is really looking bad and something should really be done there - But at the same time you need to stop for a second and think. Israel didn't suddenly wake up one day and closed down Gaza. Rockets were coming from Gaza, Israel followed by closing it down to prevent rocket shipments. It didn't really help, and then Israel changed it's policy - Each rocket that lands on Israeli ground will lead to the closing down of these passages for 24 or 48 hours. I know, there are a lot of bad things you can say about Israel right now, they have also hurt civilians, they could transfer humanitarian aid, why can't they discuss peace and so on, but the reality is different. Civilians do get hurt, but Israel isn't targeting civilians. On the other hand, Hamas does. Israel didn't suddenly start having airstrikes in Gaza, something lead to that from the other side. Israel does send humanitarian aid, and also Israel supplies electricity and water into Gaza. Israel just can't take these rockets anymore, so they've changed their policy. I would like to ask you just a small question - Imagine yourself waking up one morning and hearing an alarm. A couple of minutes later you hear that a rocket landed in your city. What would you expect your country to do? Fight. Israel has been receiving rockets for 8 years. Not a day, not a month, not a year, 8 years. If you're around 8 years old when it starts, you have the time to get to the age of 16 - and it still doesn't stop. They only have 15 seconds to get to cover. Imagine waking up and having to do that 6 to 20 times a day, every day, for 8 years. I'm not blaming the civilians of Gaza, I'm blaming Hamas, and I want Hamas out of the equation. Once that is achieved and a proper government rises in Gaza, Peace will be achieved quickly. Soon after that I can assure you there will be no "Ghetto". Medical supplies were available from the Egyptian borders (Which are also closed), however no one brought any trucks to claim them. They're still there.
You just don't know what you're talking about, do you? Do you know that many countries donate money to palestinians, including Israel? Do you know that Israel is providing water and electricity to the palastinians? Do you know that Israel gives humanitarian aid to the palestinians? From all over the world they get money and supply (do you know how much money arafat had in his bank account?). But why build good basis for the palestinians? the hamas wants them to be in shity standard of living because it's served their goals: because of that there is hatred and all the world is pity and sympathise them. And of course they can use this money to buy weapons, you just don't know how much tunnels there is in Philadelphi Route for smuggling explosive etc. Maybe you don't want to really know the facts.
I cannot locate any news articles to confirm this. I did find numerous articles that there is a critical shortage of medical supplies. So I suspect distortion of the facts.
Oh really now. What a load of crap. It's widely known that Gaza is suffering food and medical supply shortages. Their electricity is cut off, hospitals are running on generators. You're in serious denial of reality.
Hold on, let me see what I can find. Edit: Egypt lets trucks put goods near the borders Here you go And also, recently the IDF opened a youtube channel in order to improve the view about Israel. Currently everything's filled with hate and propaganda, so the IDF is publishing videos regarding where they attack (A mosque explodes, and then you can see secondary explosions caused by weaponry that were hidden there), while using Google to find about Egypt, this was also one of the results: Click here
Opening up their own youtube channel is nice and expected, but their little online software that they use to team up on forums and polls I don't really agree with. That's organized propaganda at its very best.
Look at the amount of "Anti Israel" propaganda, Israel is trying to fight back and show exactly what's going on. They're not saying they're innocent, but they're trying to show the whole story. The poll thing is retarded and I do agree about that, but at the same time what difference does an internet poll do? lol
You don't notice the same thing happening from the Islamic end? You really think "imad" is here because he's a webmaster. Dude carries on like a Quranic scholar. I doubt he even knows what an .htaccess file is.
So where did the food, water and electricity come from? Show me your knowledge. Clue: The correct answer consists of one word.
Palestinians used to be able to support themselves without any outside help, before Israel started moving them around and restricting their movement. I'd be pissed too if I couldn't support my family anymore like generations before me were able to do that.
