While I agree completely that placement is a key factor, do keep in mind, that there is not one type of border, color, or ad style that is going to be better than another. All of this really depends on the particular site that the ads are placed one. Left may work great for some on one site, but not on another. A tower may be the way to go sometimes.. In the end, it is going to take a little experimentation and a complete understanding that different sites are going to get a different result. As to ads not showing up, I can only assume that when there are multiple ad placements on a site and the next group you added does not show up that perhaps, there just are not enough ads to run?
That could be, but then wouldn't it just place a public service ad? Right now it's not placing anything, it's as though the script isn't even there
Not necessarily.. For one you could have PSA's turned off.. Secondly, what if there are no PSA's to run? I see this quite a bit with some sites...
It might mean there aren't many AdWords ads to show for the term that google thinks your page is built around. Or it might mean google can't TELL what your page is about.
I think they can know what it's about, because when the first set of ads place, they are all very relevant (the site is about yoga) But it just won't place any second blocks. Maybe they just dont' have enough ads
Here is an easy experiment that will answer this question once and for all: Lets say you have two sets of ad sense ads, ie., the script is in place in two separate parts of your page. Take the one that IS viewing and comment it out.. Then reload your page.. See what happens
I tried that, and the other one loaded instead. So looks like you were right, just not enough ad's for yoga. hmph -yoga is cool more people should want to buy ads Thanks again for your help
What page contains the two sets of ads? I just looked at your "home page" and I only see code for one. It may not be AdSense -- it may be where you're placing the script... By the way, I just added a link to your site here.
Okkkkkkkkkk i guess i'm a dork lol I fixed the problem. The way i'm used to building sites is i builed them locally then upload. Once i upload with two ad blocks, they work just fine, but only one appears locally. No idea why, but whatever Sorry all, and thanks for all the assistance! minstrel - Thanks for the link! I enjoyed your site. I'm currently attending graduate school for mental health counseling.
I had the same problem. Basic HTML site, tried placing two blocks and one of them was always blank. So, I've removed it!
I'm hypothesizing that the comment was an attempted witticism which found itself caught between a rock and a hard point (place)...
Is the Google overlord able to discern who you are in forum posts and penalize you for random, vague reference to your earnings? I don't think so. Stupid ass rule anyway.
