I have been in the affiliate business for years. I have built a great relationship with many affiliate programs and I can honestly say that I cannot deal with affiliate programs that harass the affiliate. I can understand how frustrating it is to have users enter absurd information, like "Wiener Mcdoodle, 123 peepee street, buttville, fl, 69699" But I have done as much as I could to prevent fraud and it just will never go away. But, that does not mean that they should revoke all commissions earned to keep for themselves and terminate the account. I few simple warnings is good enough. Try to work with your affiliate on how to prevent fraud I had had so many affiliate programs help me out on preventing fraud. It was an idea to get Telisign phone verification from an affiliate program that warned me that my users were entering fraudulent information, they suggested that, and now I am probably one of there top performing affiliates Also, that kind of attitude is not professional However, he was in the wrong for offering incentives on non incentive offers, I can agree with that
clickbooth has alot of email submits, just don't get so greedy and set minimum payout to a low amount so you don't get banned with 3k in your account.
Easydolla, you are correct about that so I've removed the section of the post that was unnecessary and personal. I apologize if I crossed the line with you. Your other points regarding working with incentive affiliates are very true. In fact, if you look at some of my historical posts (assuming they haven't been archived out), you will see that MaxBounty did in fact try working on the education of incentive site owners back in Spring 2007. Unfortunately, nothing we did could stop the rampant and overwhelming fraud found within incentive sites - including those owned by hard-working, honest affiliates who had tons of different fraud control measures in place. We eventually had to stop accepting cash-incentive sites and shiftcode based sites because the amount of fraud was leading to serious problems with our mechants and in some cases, their bankruptcy. We've recently revised our position on incentive sites and we are beginning to accept some custom coded cash-based incentive sites.
Let's get one thing straight, this was NOT a mistake, any more than walking out of a Wal-Mart carrying 20 pairs of jeans you haven't paid for is a mistake. You intentionally offered incentives when you should not have. You deliberately tried to defraud the merchant. As such, you were terminated.
It is all good. Actually, that is how I signed up for maxbounty a few months ago, actually quite a few times, because I read some historical posts that stated Maxbounty accepted incentive sites But yeah it is very hard to screen fraud. I find that phone verification works very well, and in fact websites such as cashlagoon.com, as well with my sites, perform very well because of it, and are in good cahoots with there advertisers. Question for you; I am opening a new incentive site. It's always best to make few websites for maximum profit. I am currently working on it, it should be live in a week or two It uses FSR script , which is $300 software, it is a very nice script Would you accept this website into your program? So far, it has no traffic, but I do own many freebie websites , I can easily make an offer to sign up for the new site. I do not want to sign up again unless I belive I'd have a change to get accepted.
You don't expect them to pay you if almost all, if not all, your leads are obtained illegitamately. Live and learn like they always say. Just find a way to generate leads legitamately.
i'm backing Steven here on this one. I haven't done a ton of biz w/ maxbounty, but whatever communications i've had with them have been great. They are a top notch network and don't tollerate scum like easydolla and his scam incentive marketing and incentive crap. He frauded users with forum posts and fraudulent incentive offers and then complains when they take his $$ away? C'mon... All affiliates income is not guaranteed when it posts especially when it's gained fraudulently. Kudos to Steven and MB on this one... Get rid of the BS incentive artists...
I am sorry Steve but i really want to work with you guys again. Please let me know if theres anyway i can get back to the network
never go greedy... and its better if you try to keep your earning under $800/month from CPA/Affiliate Network.. else they will keep an Eye on your account... 80% is chance is that they will investigate and ban u..
ya i admitted that i got greedy and changed the offer to non-incentive. Hopefully Steve can give me a hand and help me get back to the network.
It sounds like you lied to you AM, how could they tell you it's ok to do it "your way", if you're lying? And it's not their job to "check" your work. They have rules that you should read and stick to. Also, someone said MaxBounty sucks, I disagree, I use them and I've never had any problems, but hey, I'm crazy and I follow the rules.
Ouch that is a big amount to lose there but hey not the end of world, try some other networks and follow the rules better to avoid such shit to happen again.
Whatever it is $3000 is huge money.I am really sorry for what happened with you. You mentioned in one of your post that your AM has allowed to use any such tricks due to which you been fired now. But you should have forward the email to your AM which stated that your AM has allowed you to use the tricks. Butthe fact is that lonely already might have learned lessons from it and even for every affiliate its good lesson to learn. Thanks for sharing with us.... Take it easy man you can earn double than that if you work hard right...... cheer up keep movin...... Aries.
I hear you man. Is not so much the fact that they cancel the account, but the fact that you asked and they say it was alright. And even worse, they kept all the earnings to themselves, if the same thing happend to 2 or 3 people in just one month, they can keep 10gs or so. I'm new on max bounty, so before I put any more time in to them Im gonna wait and see if they really do pay me my first 200
