I know most of us are having some great secrets about link building.
I use some methods that got good results.

    Blogging :

After the completion of my proxy sites I just search google for some keywords like : Unblock sites from schools, unlimited rapidshare etc

Then when I found some blogs, I just enter some methods along with my link.

    Link Exchange :

In another case during my educational related site, I just find some ebooks sites and have link exchange with them.

What all methods you people try ?

Not much of a secret I guess, as I've posted here here on DP before... but forum posting. It builds links and brings in traffic as well as product recognition. Often times the traffic converts and other times will produce more natural one way links.

For SERP if your posts and signature are topically relevant to the forum you are posting in it will likely help more then article submissions and directory listings. However, it's more for traffic and product recognition then PR, as most threads/posts have either a PR0 or are unranked.

Done wisely though can result in more indirect link building then paying for directory submissions, as people link to both the threads you post in, as well as the links you give.

However, to do it correctly, READ all the points, especially the ones that deal with being human and being part of the community.

submitting my site to bookmarking sites, directory and article writing. Bookmarking site might give you a pr8 link if your site or blog post is interesting enough.

Concentrate on one way link maybe much better but link exchanges also can help especially when you exchange link with a rich-content blog.

Remember that the 'nofollow' tags are unique because the SE's don't allways obey the rules. Even Google who says they do i doubt that this is entireley true becuase there are so many 'nofollow' links online..... normal links from a blog site.. This topic has been debated before.

Buying links would be probably the most important way of building links, IMO.

I like free things, and some of them are high quality. But then free things can be low quality.

Here is my tips for buying links thread ;)

I bought a lot a lot of domains ( all hosted in different locations, different ip-s) , cheap hosting , and i linked the sites one to another :). Only text links on relevant pages. But you need a lot of time and money to do this, i had bowth :p

instead of buying a link, it's also good to talk to people in your same niche and ask them to SWAP links

Not very impressive, considering most blog comments have nofollow on them. What's the deal with testimonials?

For me its: article submissions, forum sigs, directory submissions, blog posts, buy links where possible.

I don't do that many link exchanges.
