I just got an assignment for uni about the manifest destiny.
As I know that there are a lot of US people in here, can you provide some feedback.
For those who do not know what it is all about here is the question:
Do you think that is still true today?

Like i said this is one method of using christianity to suit the purpose of the elite. I never once heard jesus saying u shall conquer and convert people to christianity by conquering them. the most powerful weapon in the universe is love cause it creates permanent change from within the heart.
What did jesus himself say about conquerors?

I believe that all countries try to obtain power, its been this way since the dawn of self realization. The next big thought change will happen with the advent of advanced nanotechnology which will change our lives in a very dramatic way.

I don't think Manifest Destiny exists today. Neo-conservatism is bullshit. Seriously. You can look on neo-conservatism as you would look on a corporation trying to sell anything. Bush making a speech is just some clever spin put together as cleverly as people put together commercials or other advertisements.

There's a few wackos who are neo-cons, but most people are just regular folks, who care more about issues like national defense and taxes.

Well, ask yourself one question. Is the US conquering countries and making them a part of the US in order to spread Christianity today? If not, then manifest destiny, at least in it's original form, no longer applies.
