Hi gang I do not post much after being a member for sometime who has just read peoples posts. I see by some of the attitudes that this board is mainly full of teenagers, anyway my post.

I am now in the position to develop a small website, I have good PHP,SQL knowledge and have purchased a domain I plan to develop.

The domain is sportonthe.net and now I need ideas on what kind of site I will put on there.

Over to you guys know please, ideas needed.

I would suggest some sort of sport news site, with all the latest news from all over the world in a variety of sports (like www.skysports.com). Or maybe a sports forum, where fans can discuss their sport and things, or maybe even a site where people can find sport clubs in their local area?

Is there a point to this statement? Some of the kids on this site are amazingly brilliant and make more money than all the adults combined.

Question - do you actually know anything about sports? With your first site always go with something you have a strong interest in.

Well some teenagers and kids are out performing adults and seniors. Your point that this forum is full of them is valid but think on the other side they can give you a better idea than older crooks like us.

Secondly you are asking their expert opinion while your are criticzing them.

I would recommend to get a news feed related to sports on this. Only that suits it better.

Maybe sell sports affiliate products... like jerseys, football gear etc. Or even do something with gambling? Sports gambling is a crazy niche...

    Great domain.
    Well done
You can setup a blog about sport
be specific in one niche only such as football or basketball

It's best to follow your interest in whatever sports you like. Be sure to love what you are doing. If not, it's hard to maintain the site.

Usually it's better you first get a clear idea what you want to do, then buy an appropriate domain name and develop a site... The method "K, I bought a domain name, what I should do with it??" is not very advisable.
