my first game- red alert command and conquer, rally, vietcong pc spec-cpu444mhz,ram64mb,hd 10gb,standard graphic vga
The first PC game I remember playing was Doom. I can still picture the terrible graphics in my head, but it was still a fun game for the time. I spent many hours with Starcraft as well.
I would say Starflight in the late 1980's. I had a monochrome PC XT clone with a hercules card that was able to emulate the required graphics. Was kinda orange actually. But, so much fun to land on a planet and explore it. And, a bit of roleplaying with getting a crew to fly around with. Of course, I was also going to college and was SUPPOSE TO BE studying. The first Simcity was really something. Well, and yes, Warcraft revolutionized what was being done (along with Command and Conquer). Oh! And, a little later there was a great post-apolcolyptic themed game written by 3 guys down in California (small indie could still work in those days), cannot remember the name, but, you would leave your bunker to go up on the surface and explore. You could find the parts for a bike and get around faster. But, the real cool achievement was to get all the parts for a car... then, you could *splat* run over those monsters that had previously been causing you so much trouble! LOL! Great! Wonder what ever happened with those guys, the Game Developers, they would have been great contributors to the industry. But, I think it was more of a hobby for them.
