My first mobile or portable phone was in 1984......big old thing came in a case like a large brief case....didn't work very well ...limited range.
Then I had a car phone installed....it worked better......

 

my first cell phone was :

NOKIA 3315

Well i was 16-17 years old and in my 1986 Camaro Z28 if i recall correctly
(been a long time) and it was a Motorola and service via AT&T



Yea its been a long 20+ years lol but i know i was one off the first people to have
one in my small town... cost $300+ plus monthly bill was around $250

I'm with this guy. My first mobile phone was also a Nokia 3310. No matter how much you threw it on the floor - it simply didn't want to get broken. You could shoot it with an AK - and it would still be alive. That's what I call a mobile phone.
