Curiosity strikes so I came up with this question. Where did you first learn about link development or link building? I'm a marketing graduate but internet marketing here in our country is quite new. Anyway, I learned link building when I was asked to link domains with a long list of do follow links. I didn't know it was link building. What's yours?
Probably the late 90's This site started in 2004 and the need to have links was well established then. We've had members from the Philippines the whole way through. Why do you think it's new for your country?
oh it's been a while. early 2000s maybe when i started link development. course i was a 12 year old nerd who was building shitty websites, but i still went about link development in a mature way.
Not necessarily it's new to us. I heard some of the people talking about when it was 2008 already. So sad that it was not well-integrated in our curriculum.
i used to do reciprocal link exchanges in my old sites, but as web 2.0 developed i left it and mainly do article marketing
the necessity of backlinking only came to me recently, but what started me was a little bit complex, link-baiting, which up to know I cant remember how it goes...
oh, okay.... i never heard of it again these days as i research on backlinking. don't know the reason, but only up to now that it is already outdated. thanks.
It's hard going back in the memory bank to know exactly when I learned about the importance of link building. But it would be safe to say it was around the same time I started learning about SEO.
way back in 2007 i guess i started bookmarking on digg and got carried away... kept bookmarking my own site until finally got banned that was my worst link building exp.. but i learned from my mistake
