Hey Guys - Let share when and how we got our FIRST Freelance project that we have worked on. I have none as of now and would love to work on a project which deals with Pay per Click. Thank You.
Mine was a $400 job building a corporate site based on joomla. The client wanted a slick elegant look and I found the perfect one on themeforest.net Client loved it.
Eight years ago, I decided that I was sick of the corporate secretary rat race and what I really wanted to do was work from home full-time as a Freelance Writer with most of my work being online. Well, I pretty much quit my job, struggled for a long time, but never looked back. That was 8 years ago and I am doing just fine. My first project, though, was working for a translation company in Maryland as a Virtual Assistant and Live Chat girl (yup, I was the person behind the typing in the Chat Box that pops up). Eventually, they ripped me off for $500 and then I found out horrible things about the company from others online. From that moment forward, I've asked for ALL monies up front or I simply don't take a job. My services include SEO, writing articles, writing PLR, creating my own ebooks, editing/proofing websites, transcription, academic ghostwriting, and more. I'm really into finding passive income that will eventually make me "money while I sleep" (like everyone wants!), so about 6 months ago Adsense became my focus and passion. My days are crazy busy researching keywords and building niche content blogsites (I'll be starting to build my 15th site tomorrow). It's great because, as a writer with SEO experience, I don't have to outsource anything and my overhead is zero. My Adsense acct is finally starting to build up and I figure I'll start flipping sites one at a time for chunks of cash in a month or two. The internet is truly a goldmine with hundreds of ways to make money and plenty to go around for everyone. Don't give up even in the down times and, believe me, all that talk about the importance of having multiple streams of income is so true. Besides, it keeps things interesting and I'm never, ever bored. Good luck all!
My first project was SEO for a content writing website. I have to rank 1st of google with atleast of 3 keywords chosen by client. I am very happy that i have successfully completed that.
I made a script and sold it public, one of my customer give me Freelancing project .. It only worth 20$, but I will always remember it
My first project was for a university in the 90s. Jumped in at the deep end, learnt to swim real fast... then realized that everyone I was working for didn't have a clue, and didn't care about anything I was doing or how much it cost. It wasn't their money. Lesson learnt : work for universities and government departments whenever you can, they sign off at 5pm, can't even tell you the name of the project you're working on, and their main job is to spend money that isn't theirs getting a job done that nobody will ever be responsible for.. Mindless academics and government slaves spending money that isn't theirs. GOLD MINE.
Awesome Guys! Very Inspiring especially the post from "Zari". I wish some one could throw some light on how to go about bagging the first freelance project.
I created a custom wordpress theme and website for someone for $100, including a few special plugins..
