So I'm just wondering, how long did it take your forum to gain its first 1,000 posts? It took me about a month and a half.
Less then a month. Me and my mods worked hard though to achieve it. As of now, after 2 years, we have Threads: 15,960, Posts: 127,889, Members: 7,162, Active Members: 2,301
less then a month and now doing seo work on low competion keywords instead of high. expect some great results. Keep with it hard work. you go threw ups and downs and back up again.
Reading all of your replies I realize that I am doing something really wrong as it is six months now and we do not even have 400 posts yet and with this rate It will take ages to get to thousand posts.
Ive heard merging with another forum is actually pretty good as it gives you an already standing member base to advertise off.
Very impressive. Few forums could reach such feat. @OP: 1K posts can be done in a day if you really want to.
The first 1,000 post? It took around 1 - 2 months. The thing is, as the forum owner, your expected to post quality content, and post a lot of it. When I started my forum, I had hundreds of pictures that I took ready to be uploaded for the new threads.
About 3 1/2 weeks I had made just about all of them I plan to make another 500 to 750 on my adult forum then I will spend 95% of my time promoting it
Nearing 3K now, forum's been up about 4 months. I know that it's not that good, but it's a decent speed.
Do you think that content should be ready before one can start forum, f.e if i intend to buy vbulletin and start my own forum, how many articles and topics should be ready for the beginning. (i started bookmaker.az but don't have enough content)
Took my forum probably about 2 weeks to a month. That's extrapolation based on an internet archive capture showing it at about 35,000 posts at the end of its first year. I was not the owner or even a member at the time and it was run very differently though.
