    I started with Civ 1 and 2, then Dune 2, then Axis & Allies.

    Chess is probably the most popular strategy game of all times, being several thousands years ago, but the problem is, there are too many great chess players in the world... :-(

    It's not so fun to play when it is too hard to win :)

    I think that it's more interesting to play when you know there's someone better than you, because you are focused to beat him. ;)
    If there were no good chess players, and lets say that you become the best one - than you will know that no one can beat you, and then what?!? You will be bored while playing...
