Can you name some of your favourite SEO experiments?

I can personally tell you that mine is something I ran myself: I redesigned one of my blogs, put the keywords lower down, and dropped from page 1 to page 2 on yahoo-msn. not sure what's up with google, but i somehow broke into the top 100 not long after, though it's back in and out, hovering in the 90s.

My favourite, but most exhausting, was using anchor text on every single text link or image on my site. I don't know if it makes a difference, but from what I've heard it does. Who knows?!

Join A LOT of link networks, link directories and all those spammy stuff.

Get 100,000+ inbound links in just few hours.

Site get banned almost immediately from Google, and rank no.1 on MSN the next day :D Then I sold the site.

I see people are not so willing to share their experiments/ideas... Would it help if I explained that I'll be linking to those with good ideas/case studies who share them here from my SEO blog (see sig)?

Hmm...well all I do is to use pinging tools regularly for my blog(s). Works like a charm.
