as the sub says, whos your favorite director. Please only mention hollywood directors. Lets keep it limited to hollywood. 1) Martin Scorsese - Awesome guy, extremely good at mafia movies. 2) Quentin Tarantino- I guess dont have to explain myself 3) Brian De Palma- Another great director 4) Steven Spielberg- Master of Sci-fi 5) Alfred Hitchcock- The great director of the 40-50's
1) Quentin Tarantino - Almost as good as me (WOW!) 2) Christopher Nolan - Gave us such classics as Batman Begins, The Prestige and Memento 3) Martin Scorsese - Um... I just like his movies 4) M. Night Shyamalan - Only on "The Sixth Sense" though.
Love Tarantino, Paul Thomas Anderson is going to get my vote though, just to make sure hes recognized. http://http://imdb.com/name/nm0000759/
Simply Put Steven Spielberg, Because he just churns out constant good work, year after year, which everyone likes and he has'nt stopped and gotten into the ridiculous realms of action like *cough* Michael *cough* bay
It seems only these 5-10 handful directors are most loved isnt it? Martin Scorcese appeared the most in this thread, so i would guess he is seriously popular. No wonder coz almost all his movies did extremely well on box office and secondly most of his movies are in IMDB top 250. by the way, i like M Shymalan (only recognised indian director) in hollywood today. I wish he comes out of thriller and take other genre seriously. Tarantino always had a different touch. The way he makes films is lot different than others, there is always something special in a tarantino film. i would say, Luc besson was really good in Leon. Natalie made a stunning debut but she kinda confused these days. i really loved her in leon.
