I had some amazing Chang Zhou food last night at a rather nice restaurant here in Shanghai. The service was excellent, 2 waiters pretty much the whole time, totall cost around 400 RMB (55 USD) for 2. We had great fried oysters in a flaky crispy pasty. Fried rice with eggs, and shrimp. Lemon marinated boneless chicken. Shrimp filled dumplings with a special vinegar. To finish it off some pork filled steamed dumplings and a few bottles of Corona.

Chinese food overseas is horrible compared to the real thing. And no, most people don't eat monkey brains, and dog. My Chinese girlfriend certainly never has before.

Sometimes in business meetings they attempt to challenge your eating ability with strange dishes though, along with plentitudes of Chinese alcohol.

Dog meat! Poor Doggy, do you have any pet dogs at home? I was offered dog meat by Koreans but I can't stomach it, for me it is mutton, pork, beef and chicken, the rest seemed too weird for my appetite.

The range of vegetarian food in China can be amazing but when eating there, eat at the more well known restaurants, never try to be like the locals trying out the stalls, normally those from developed countries can't stomach the food, I guess they aren't super hygienic out there.

Most Chinese restaurants have quite a large number of delicious tofu dishes. Plus theres quite a number of Buddhist restaurants. Besides that other Asian food (such as Thai, Indonesian and Indian) is quite popular around here, so we have all types of vegetarian dishes from these restaurants as well.

I like the mongolian bars. I generally jsut put a combination of beef, chicken, crab meat, and shrimp in a bowl along with onions and ask them to make it very hot. I love it. Its really the only type of chinese food I can eat because most of it in my opinion is very bland.

You are probably right, I very rarely eat Asian foods. Other than the mongolian bars, I just haven't tasted much that I really liked.

Sushi is Japanese food. It tasted really good. However it is not a very healthy food because of the white rice
