Besides Adsense, what other affiliate programs do you suggest for a website developement (free hosting forum) related forum?

it really isn't too hard to find affiliate programs. search for your keywords and "affilate program" and you'll usually get some results

Also, for people making a decent amount of money on other affiliate programs, I imagine they are not going to be quick to share what they are. No one wants more people competing with them. :)

there is a program similar to adsense that ive had some mild success with: http://www.bannerboxes.com

I'm running it on one of my sites-it looks like they just take PPC feeds and parse them into ads.

Maybe you could give them a try-they aren't as strict as Google is, which makes them a good alternative to people rejected by Google.

Respect TOS and you wont be rejected. I doubt there is any real alternative to Google for many things, including AdSence :)

Do any of these pay via Paypal? If so, they would make good alternatives for the 12 year olds that can't get checks in the mail from Adsense :p

I think you need to be over 18 for all of these (I may be wrong though, not sure.)

    You can try this:
    http://www.sitesell.com/friday.html

It's a wonderful market tool which makes it easy for you to build a professional, popular, and profitable site that attracts a strong, endless stream of free, warm, willing-to-buy visitors.

And it's also a great affiliate program...

Adsense can go to hell, they are simply do not work for webmaster related things. Try to find some webmaster tools that offer affiliate program, they might give you much, much better income than adsense.

I have some health sites and computer sites and I earn much more after I use affiliate programs like markethealth or CJ compared to when I still used adsense. Just remember that you must provide complete review about each product if you want people to click your affiliate link and (hopefully) buy the product. Different case with adsense.

Usually forum gets larger traffic than normal sites, so CPM will be better than CPC. CPA is also good as long as it's hosting related. Top CPA networks including CJ, Linkshare, and some others which you can find out from Top 10 Online Affiliate Networks in 2012- List
