Do you have experience with buying websites on flippa.com?I would like to buy the website (website with earnings) for a few thousand dollars ($X.XXX - $XX.XXX). I found that there are also brokers which sell sites like Latonas.com (but their sites seem a bit overpriced).
do your research, demand the metrics, look into prices/revenue/visitors yourself, and you can find good deals on flippa. like Tangible Asset said, it is a safe way to trade if you're doing your own research so you know who's honest and not.
You have to do research. Make sure the site wasn't blacklisted by Google. Double check any stats provided. If it is a site that generates offline income I would ask for bank statements
Thanks for tips. And how do you verify website earnings? Some sellers show "statement" from Google Adsense. Is it credible? Can they falsify this document?
Have a REAL GOOD look at the stats - The fact is some sellers on flippa "buy" web traffic from services, to try and show that the site is getting real traffic when it is not. If you ask for a detailed Google Analytics report on traffic you can usually see the keyword the traffic is coming in on, then check for yourself if the site does rank well for that keyword. For example I've seen a website ranking on page 10 for a keyword getting lots of traffic - What was happening is they got the page to rank on page 10 for a keyword (not hard at all) and then bought some traffic - Asked people to search and find the keyword (which was on page 10) and click the search engine results - Of course the google analytics report showed traffic from that keyword. Real people searching would never find that keyword on page 10. Other times they are not that smart and if you look at the report and it shows a very high level of direct traffic (which means people just typed the url into a browser) then that is a red flag. But of course traffic is only one thing, earnings is another - IF they have earnings, then do a detailed check on them (make sure names are unique, on different IP addresses, etc). I have no idea how many scammers are on flippa but they are there - I answered someone in a thread on digitalpoint the other day who admitted to buying traffic to inflate the figures to help sell websites on flippa. Best advice: Look in detail at all your stats and ask as many questions as you can to figure out if they are honest or scammers.
id rather build sites than buy them on there. you could spend less and make more and not get ripped off.
its very safe to sell or purchase websites on flippa. i have purchased 3 websites from flippa and everything worked like a charm over there. i am really happy with the way business is done over there. just be careful about checking the stats and everything about the website.
Flippa is reasonable, but expect to pay a premium on the websites there. They offer a lot of websites that sell for WAY more than what they are worth.
Most of them (Almost 100%) buy false traffic, show false revenues (Do some transaction between friends, take paypal screenshot and cancel the transactions. How else you can expect someone selling a website making say 300$ a month for 400$? Avoid flippa at all costs particularly for high value website buys.
I agree that many sites on flippa are overpriced or it's a scam. But there can be reputable sellers with good offers (with positive feedback, for example Jen_Carter, aspidov, noonanco, Flipping Enterprises etc.).
True, and this is the main reason i won't ever use Flippa again and really advice people NOT to do business on Flippa.
