Tell us your dream Operating System.

    Think about:
    - What would it look like?
    - How it will store and handle things (files, hardware, connections, web apps, etc.)
    - Security
    and so on...

I'm still dreaming about mine... :D

...and please keep it positive and don't go overboard. This should be fun and interesting! :)

    I already made mine.
Custom Shell with multi desktop systems, ReZhacked Windows Core
    Bulletproof security.

Winamp & sonique controllers built into the GUI.
    Multi menus
Different desktop icons for different sections.
    The list goes on

My dream OS would be one that didn’t need updates every month and that was secure enough so people wouldn’t have to install firewalls, spyware removers, etc…

Can you tell us more about your OS? Is it a Homebrew *Nix system that you compiled to suit your needs or you coded everything from scratch? From what I can see It resembles Afterstep and sawfish.

It still looks like XP with a fancy skin

I like SuSE linux. Beacuse there are more solutions than problems in SuSE linux. I do not like to work around my OS, I just want to have it an do my work :)

I would love to see Google OS. :)

    ps:
    This one is interesting, too.

I think that represents the future. One day we will only buy the hardware, all software will be online so that Governments can control our every move. If you think about it the process has already begun.

Yea... I forgot smily there... :) Sick of them... Smilies everywhere... Look this one :) Stupid oval yellow thing...

I agree with Emperior. Things are going that way. Some 'G' will host OS with our files. You can have monitor, keybord and modem. Terminal. If you want HDD, you should get yourself a licence for storing files at your home. If you want licence for Photoshop - you have to swear you willl not liquify Mr. President of G.

    Etc. :)

Like others said, it should allow me to customize it the way I want it. Most likely it will be made by me!

    a few things,

    1. Mouse gestures build in system.
drag with right button up-copy, drag down-delete, etc.

    2. Desktop to search ->in shell build in option to search for highlighted words.
    for example from notepad .

    3. Right click on windows bored would move the window, left would resize.

    4. Minimalize and close buttons on the bottom instead of on the
top (i mostly have mouse coursor somewhere in bottom of desktop0 and it
is to far to move mouse to the top.)

    5. Mause and key recorder - somthing to build macros in windows envirometn.

    6. A button or bar that would show most recentlu used commeands.
so for example if i'm creating new files i would have a button "Create new file" because it would save time when creating new files.

    7. OS which make possible to do extensions easlyly, something like firefox.
