Hi Everyone, I'm wanting general comments on this business idea. Basically, I edit a popular travel blog, which is featured in various websites via the RSS feed, and is ranked well in Google, MSN and Yahoo etc. It gets good traffic, and would be a perfect blog to help promote other travel websites and blogs. I've seen blog review websites but this isn't a review, its a blog entry, which will help drive traffic to your website and help you improve your position in the search engines. I intend to build case studies (check the link in my sig for example of case study and testimonial) and testimonials to show how effective the service could be. Do you think £35 ($57) is alot to expect people to pay? I think I should actually charge more but I am trying to work a figure out which would get peoples attention. Darren
Why dont you workout the average cost per visitor? For example if on an average you are able to send 200 visitors to the site in the first 2 months (assume traffic from your blog to the advertiser pans out after 2 months), then the cost would work out to about 30c per visitor. I understand that it is not only the visitors that count but also visitors from SE which you will not be able to calculate. But if 30c for a visitor itself is below industry average then you are doing fine charging $57. Just my opinion.
Thanks for the suggestion. That would be difficult to do because my RSS feed is picked up by a few US, Canada newspaper websites, and a few of my blog entries have had over 3,000 page views, some of them have only had 500 page views from one US newspaper website. One company who I blogged about is receiving 200 visitors every month, but this was before I started to charge for this service, they have since contacted me about advertising. This is the most difficult part of creating a service or product - the pricing!
