Oh dear, this seems to be an exact story from my book! Like any other kid, wanted to be a cricketer, was the best in my 'colony', captained and all. Went upto the extent of getting coached for a month or two by Ramakant Achrekar - coach of Tendulkar as well - and then was not supported by folks back home. End of dream. But cricket was not done. I now am IT professional, but also freelance for a couple of cricket websites, and an Indian Cricket Monthly Magazine as a cricket writer!
I never really wanted to be a firefighter, astronaut or anything as a child. I just wanted to be the best I could be.
