What are the biggest problems with Facebook advertising? Poor conversion rates? Inefficient interface? Or is it perfect the way it is? Ha.
The problems I have seen: 1) poor conversion rates 2) high CPC 3) did I mention poor conversion rates? I have tried facebook ads for both affilate programs and even to advertise a FREE app on Facebook... neither converted very well... waste of money IMO
The advertisement visible in the irrelevant categories in facebook. Google also shows relevant ads. This is the reason of poor conversion rate. Some users only want to see wht is inside the advertisement and close the website. They actually not come to the website to purchase something. This is the reason google adwords is successful. It shows your ads relevant to user choice.
Conversions rates are high if you can target your ads and hooks properly. A hook is the most important part... what the user sees in the first second of noticing the ad.
I dont know about you guys, but I have been using their advertising model for awhile now, and I have had some pretty poor experiences with it (although I still use it). I would say the biggest issue is inconsistencies. There are days where I will receive tens of thousands of impressions, and then the next receive close to zero, even though my campaign is no where near finished. This is difficult for me because I run campaigns for other companies looking to grow their networks, and when things arent consistent, I am unfortunately the one left to blame
Saying FB in general has low conversion rates is a little naive. It really depends on your niche, the offer, targeting, demographics, country, etc... using a broad term like "low conversion rate" is wrong IMO. Keep on testing to find what will convert. My biggest problem is the ad-manager. It's so terrible even after the update.
For the most part it's higher than other places but it also converts better to a certain extent. You can also find much lower prices in some markets too!
Waste of time, if you do try it I hope you have a free credit. Last time I checked it was $350 worth of free advertising (Details). But the conversion rate is terrible. I feel like there is a monkey sitting at a computer just clicking on facebook ads all day.
Though personally i have not tried advertising in FB, I heard people complainin about it. They say it is not worth the deal, hassle, amount and time spent on monitoring. Poor conversion rates also add. FB ads can work better when targeted for the right people. But as this is a social networking site, most people who use this are teenagers and have less freedom and money to purchase the product even if they like it. This is the reason for poor conversion rates.
You guys are thinking about it WAY too much and in the wrong way if you ask me. Why would you see people advertise on Facebook with the same or similar ads all the time? because they make money. Sure the conversions 'might' be low but maybe the clicks are low cost too.... Don't think about it try it you might even be surprised at the results....
