Your best strategy for directory submissions?

OK everyone what's your strategy for submitting to lots of directories?

Do you pay someone to do it? Use some kind of bot? How do you choose which ones are worth it? Do you ever pay to get in a directory?


Me personally I do it by hand. I check webmaster forums for people offering free listings in tehir enw directories or directories that are normally paid offering free or reduced prices. Like I paid to be listed in the WOW directory when they dropped prices back when it got sold. I also submit when I see a directory in somones sig. I usually do about 20 or so per week.

 

We get some of the guys in DP to submit our directories to other directories
Of course we follow the signature links too

We pay to be on good directories every day we purchase paid listings

Our last weeks listing for any 1 directory will be well in excess of 500 submittals per directory

 

I only submit to about 20 directories. I'll either do them myself or I'll pay someone to submit to the list. Most of the time though, I'll have someone do it for me. My time is worth more then that.

But directories aren't worth THAT much. I'd rather get relevant link exchanges then one-way link directories.

 

I submit to all the directories listed of Dan by hand, no bot and no softwares.
I've an excel sheet that tells me where i have to submit to, at the beginning it was pretty slow, but i can get 50 backlinks for each of my sites in 1 hour now.

 

I've build a database with over 700 directories, and I have a script that shows where my websites have been submitted to and if I'm accepted/declined. It's a boring job but you never submit twice to the same directorie, so you save time.

 

What script do you use?

 

I manually submit 20 or so per week for all the sites I work on. I use the firefox extension InFormEnter to paste the details into the submission forms which helps speed up the process.

I'm starting to give up manual submissions though. Such a time waster. Especially when you come across so many that are broken. Like the image validation image doesn't show up or you get script errors when you submit.

Such crappy directory owners need to be shot.

 

I've build it myself, for personal use.

 

I pay for some, but I also use InformEnter to do them myself. I visit the solicitations section of the forum every few days so I can get in new ones before they become paid

I boughgt IBP and it did all the dictory submitting for me

 

What's IBP?

 

I have a list of high pr directories that i submit at and i also submit on directories i see on DP. always for free
I submit about 10-15 directories weekly
