    I think more important than any technique is an experimental mothodology. If you have heard about some link building methods: put up a page optimized for a few keywords, test that link building method on that page. Give it a few months to see results, then you will know how well it works. Wehn you find the good link building texhniques, rinse and repeat to take serps and profit.

    I have seen lots of good quality sites do poorly in the SERP's because they thought content was all that was needed... It's a bit more than just good content.
