    Hi,

I need your advice. I am planning on creating a content website, basically seo friendly articles. Now I need your advice, should I use Joomla or Wordpress to create the site?
I do not want to create a blog, but I can handle wp quite well. If I would use Joomla I would have to learn a lot, would it be worth it?

it really depends on the complexity your looking for. although wordpress has soem great plus points i use joomla for anything more than a blog because it does have a lot of possible addons

if you make your site in wordpress and then decide at some point you want to add membership and maybe a forum then possibly a listing of SEO websites then maybe a directory then you would be stuffed using wordpress but with joomla you just install the component and away you go

so make a decision on how complex your site is going to get and make the choice based on that.

or b just go with joomla in case you might want to do anything on a whim

I like both Joomla and Wordpress but prefer Joomla for content sites... it's very flexible, good support forum, and always getting better. You can add all sorts of modules or extensions as need for just about everything... I'm no expert with it but getting better everyday just by using it... My clients also use it... once set up it's easy for them to go into the admin area and add content...

joomla has wider applications than Wordpress but Joomla has a big learning curve. You can make wordpress your b1tch in a matter of days. But joomla requires lot of time :)

also the best of joomla plugins and themes are commercial :D though there are a lot of free alternatives.

    my personal experience using both.
