Your advice wanted on this "Web 2.0" template for a new web platform [coming soon!]

Hi guys, I'm not much of an artist but I've tried my luck at creating a template for a new web platform that I'm currently developing.

I would like you to take a look at it and offer some suggestions for improvement:

Now what I am concerned about is whether the logo / navbar / tables actually match well. Do you think I need to change the colour scheme of the tables to blend better with the logo and navbar? Those are the sort of suggestions I'm looking for. If you have some artistic talent and can describe some improvements, I would really appreciate your wisdom!

    Thanks!

The layout & color ok, funky design but why the logo is slant, especially the slant shadow logo, weird looking. Better don't use underline on the right menu because you're using bold typeface.

    Hope this help :)

Your logo slant might appeal to your niche users, as I'm not familiar with it, but it doesn't look very professional.

If you're going for the 'professional' look, then I'd recommened straightening it out.

I'd say it needs a better header...

To me the navigation on top looks odd. Why are the buttons so huge and just floating way up there? Maybe try making them look like tabs and stick them to the top of that 'user index' box on top... just a thought.

    Thanks again folks.

I have made quite a few changes based on your suggestions, but I feel I've taken the wrong route with this design.

It has far too much "character" for its purpose. Taking a look at vBulletin for example, the default theme looks tidy but generic. The above template however looks very customized as if it is targeted at a specific niche.

In realizing this, my next step is to create a new, somewhat more general looking theme and to offer the above as a free alternative template.

    Oh well!
