Your Advice Needed on PHP/HTML Forms & Aweber

    Hi there,

If you're familiar with Aweber and forms, I'm looking to do exactly the same as this website with their newsletter: http://pregnancy.baby-gaga.com/calendar/

I want women to sign-up and select their due date, then for it to start them on the correct place on the autoresponder sequence.

I have found out how to start them off on a certain part of the sequence by doing this with the Aweber HTML form on my page:

Removing this line of HTML from the web form:

    <input type="hidden" name="meta_message" value="1">

Then replacing it with HTML to select the message number via a dropdown or radio button.

    Example:

    <tr><td>Your Current Week of Pregnancy:</td><td><select name="meta_message">
    <option value="1">Week 1</option>
    <option value="2">Week 2</option>
    <option value="3">Week 3</option>
    </select></td></tr>

The trouble is, I want them to select the month and day they're due and then start them on the correct message as that will be more accurate than just asking them what week of pregnancy they're in.

    Could anyone help me out?

    Best regards,

    Pete

I may be misunderstanding but how will that be more accurate? Won't you just end up counting backward and working out what week they're at?

Every woman I know who has been pregnant has always known at every point in the pregnancy what week she was at. Presumably because every bench mark is measured that way.

    But then I'm a guy!

Maybe get some feedback from women over in general chat?

    Hi Nick,

I think you're right about counting back.

My main concern is sending them an e-mail saying 'You're in your third week of pregnancy' a few days before they actually are.

I'm not sure the best way to work this out.. if there's a few days out after so many weeks I think it would be completely wrong or something... argh.. this is very difficult ! :)

Well, I guess asking for the due date does take care of that problem then!

Then subtract the current date from that date, and divide by seven gives you the number of weeks to go, which should allow you towork out which week they're in.
