We're excited to announce the release of the Microsoft Content Ads Beta to all U.S. adCenter advertisers on August 29! With this release, you can extend your advertising reach beyond search, and choose how your accounts are upgraded. Choose how you want to upgrade On August 29, you don't have to make any changes and your ad groups will automatically expand to hybrid distribution, meaning they will distribute to search and content pages. - - Looks like microsoft is on the path to get their own verion of ad publisher network. Not sure how long they would need to join the club. Update: Just spoke with their support staff, they don't have any info on webmasters publishing their ads. -- They would let us know when they start any service like that. Thanks
Got the same email. My guess is that Microsoft will talk some large well-known sites (including some of their own) to display the ads -- to attract advertisers into the program -- then they'll open it up to you and me as the ad inventory grows. If they open it up to us too soon, there'll be no inventory and we'll drop out of the program. I hope it works better than Yahoo's program.
I take it this is more like the Adwords "Search Network" then the "content network" ...for now... From Microsoft email "Where Content Ads appear Ad groups expanded for contextual distribution will display on relevant webpages on the quality Microsoft network, including MSN Tech & Gadgets, Money, Real Estate, and Windows Marketplace, as well as partner websites. " Anyone see a reason to op-out of this using the link in the email?
Yeah, should be like googles search network for now. This is good though. It's the real content networks of google and yahoo that produce the low quality traffic.
Llook like this is ON (can see new match type in AdCenter). Anyone know how you turn this off for a given keyword if it does not work out ? (so far my only solution would be to lower the bid on the "content network") or probably pause the adgroup and create a new one with out the "content netword option" (?). Cheers, Chris
Hi All From the adCenter Blog: Once your adCenter account is upgraded, you’ll have control over your campaigns through the following choices: Distribution Hybrid: Run ads on Live Search and content pages using "hybrid" ad groups. Existing ad groups will automatically be set to display on content pages at current search ad bid prices. You can also set new bids for your content clicks [see below]. Turn off Content Ads At the ad group level: Within the Ad Group Settings tab, under the Targeting section, click the Select a distribution method for this ad group link, and clear the Content check box. At the campaign level: On the Campaigns tab, select the check boxes next to those campaigns you’d like to edit. Click Bulk Edit. In the Edit settings for multiple campaigns section, from the Campaign settings drop-down list, select Content distribution, and click Apply. Please note that once you have turned off content distribution via Bulk Edit, you will have to manually adjust each ad group if you wish to turn content distribution back on in the future. Create content-only and search-only ad groups You can create a unique destination URL or have content-specific ad creative. Pricing Set a separate bid price for your Content Ad clicks Set a universal bid-price for all content bids in an ad group by choosing to set separate bid prices for content ads under the advanced bidding option. Set a keyword specific bid price by selecting “bid for individual keywords†under the “advanced bidding†option. Reporting You can run reports that separate content clicks from search clicks Cheers adCenterEU
Expected 10/10 Hope this one doesn't fail like YPN. Knowing Microsoft, they'll make it a really sophisticated version no one knows how to use.
Hi All, I'm not getting any traffic from Content Ads in Adcenter, but i'm good traffic in search network.
