The problem with putting your real name and picture of yourself in a forum like this, is you've got to be damn sure you always want to be associated with what you've posted. And not be caught out plagiariazing other people.


(and the first time I read this thread - Barb Thornback did have a photo of herself, which for some reason she decided to take down, so I reckon she decided it wasn't such a great idea)

 

I don't think this is true for all business though, probably is most effective for trades that require some form of comfort/safety/understanding for the buyer.

 

I've always been a big fan of people using their own picture for their avatar... Or at least using it as their profile picture. I don't know if it will actually make you more money or not, I just think it's more friendly.

 

Some people might think it is racist

Like "no offense", a Caucasian thinking that a African has no potential in the internet (It happens, I seen a question of this on another forum).

 

I would definitely trust a posting more if the picture was posted.. I agree with you "Barb"...
