All my ebay commissions for last month have locked. almost all earned through PPC. If you redirect through your domain , they have no way of knowing the traffic was generated through ppc and their TOS don't say this isn't allowed!! They might catch on , u neva know. But for now, the sun is still shining, so lets make more hay !!
Hate to tell you this, but now matter what kind of redirect you are doing it will show google as the referrer.
Pretty sure it will still show google ppc as the referrer. Just run a test and set up a tinyurl to point to a new folder on your webserver. Then look at your stat program to see what the referrer is.
Thanks vetting. Here is what I did for a quick test. You can go here to see a Referring url http://www.fastipcheck.com/ So I put that link into tinyurl. Here's the link http://tinyurl.com/2sfx4z Now when you go to fastipcheck.com through the tinyurl above, You would think it would show tinyurl as the Referring url but It shows referring url as NONE So It seems it will hide the Referring url
Nope, it shows my url as the referrer. I tested it lots of times before I implemented it. Basically its just like sending people to your site and then immediately to ebay. About using tinyurl, i'd advise against that coz it mite look a bit suspicious. use one of your domains you have listed in CJ and the PID that corresponds with it to redirect.
<head> <title>Loading page...</title> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2;URL=http://rover.ebay.com/rover/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"> <script> url='http://rover.ebay.com/rover/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'; if(document.images) { top.location.replace(url); } else { top.location.href=url; } </script> </head> Loading <a href=http://rover.ebay.com/rover/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>page</a>... Code (markup): use it exactly as is it (except for the ebay link of course). don't put <html</html> or <bode></body> tags.
Anyone doing this or thinking of doing this should really reconsider. This is against ebay's rules and you will be booted from the program if they discover that you're doing it. Without question ebay requires a landing page to drive the traffic, not a redirected landing page. -Bill
with my script its so easy for me, just link a product on my page in the adwords link and thats it!i dont have rover links, my script lists the products with my domain name and when you click on it then it will convert to a rover, but you can see thats a rover link my links look like this www.mydomain.com/php................................. then you click and you go in directly in ebay without seeing any rover stuff cool hey?
The TOS does not address redirecting let alone say it is not allowed. what they say is u can use ebay.com as the display url or the rover link that they give you as the destination url
When they banned direct PPC traffic they effectively banned what you're doing as well. You're doing the same thing as direct PPC but trying to hide the fact and they will catch up with you. You do this at your own risk.
i did it once, and its not actually worth it! With a landing page its much better, you get more results ;-)
