Hi all, Looking for some feedback on my domains. I own both of these and Im not sure which way to go for the main URL. Which ever one I choose, the other will point to it. Which of these do you prefer?
YKYWU it's great. Since you don't have nothing important on the name itself there is no point using it on the domain name. YKYWU it's perfect for a brand name and it's easy to share and access. Good luck
The shorter the website is the better you will be for several reasons why. For one because it's easier for customers to remember. Also it's easier to fit it into fields like on classified ad sites.
It is long, but it is somewhat descriptive. The original poster could buy both and redirect the short URL to the long one for those who type it in. But how many people type in URLs these days? Most people click on a link from a search engine, website, or type a few letters and their bookmarks drop down with the site and they click on that. So long domain names are not necessarily the hassle people say they are. I never type the domain name for forums.digitalpoint.com. As soon as I type "for", the bookmark drops down and I click on it.
I wanted to know, what were you thinking when you bought these domains, there must be some reason, you selected these names. Also the second domain, even if it is short, but it is not that catchy to my eyes. So I would go with the long domain even if many would not agree with me
Not sure how this YKYWU is better than the other one. I wouldn't remember this abbreviation in a million years.
The first one because it's easy to remember. Long Acronyms like ykywo.com does not make sense and it's not easy to understand what that means. Also just saying it it's difficult. Imagine telling someone to go to ykywo.com, it would be hard to pronounce on your part and harder to remember from their part. Short Acronyms can work but it has be to short and catchy - like IBM.com, GE, AMD, etc.
