The strange thing is that I have most of my recipes targeted for mass merchants -> food, and until the geo ads they were showing food related ads, even if not related to a specific recipe. Actually they don't.

And also considering lack of advertiser, I'm with you: the spiders do not recognize the context. I just got "ticket deals for Red Hot Chili Pepper concert". Still better than "stepper motors" ....

Yahoo seriously needs to step it up here.

have you thought about removing category targetting? my understanding is if you category target, you will not get contextual targetted ads at all. you will just get ads from the pool in that category (however ypn decides what ads go in a category and not all advertisers go in a category even if they are a direct match). i have tested category targetting and choosing a category that exactly matches a page does not bring up the same ads that contextual targetting brings up. in fact, in all cases of my sites, contextual targetting provides much better targetting to my content.

i may be wrong here, but im pretty sure if you use category targetting you cant complain that your ads arent targetting to your page. your basically saying, dont read my page, dont target to my content, show me whatever ads ypn has decided to put in that category, even if its a total miss.

I haven't checked in the last 2 days (went on a trip) but the last time I checked my ads seemed better targetted. That doesn't mean they get clicked though which really makes me wonder about the subleties and differences to Adsense.

I do not dare to ask that much!
Maybe a little more (just a little bit) of related ads? :)

Just think how long Gmail has been in beta.

I admit Yahoo taking their time has been to the detriment of the market for both advertisers and publishers.
