Can youtube be used in anyway to generate links?

I would say indirectly, yes.

Assuming you put together a video that gets popular enough to really hit "viral" mode - and assuming you have your link or website name in the video at some point - people will naturally want to head over to your site to see what else you have going on - which could result in them linking to you.

 

sure if something goes viral, like the diet coke mentos thing.

 

you can generate links but you have to put your site link or website name in the video format.
