What would you do if you had $20,000 for your marketing budget?

Are there any key places out there like directories you can throw $1000 at and get tons and tons of views?

Let me be the first to say..

What are you marketing? Who are you targeting? Etc.

Answers will vary.. You wouldn't market alcohol the same way you'd market hotwheels.

    We need more info..

Depends upon the vertical, but I would probably put that kind of dough into a low end DR spot and fiddle around with Google TV.

I would easily drop $2000 on Google Adwords, going after some good keywords. I would fire up 5-10 blogs on different hosts, have some ghostwriters write up different marketing material/articles with a little different approach on each and maybe hire some three or four designers. Estimated cost per blog, $250-$300, so assume $2000 more dollars burnt there. I would spend the next $1000 on video promotion, have someone make up some short videos and post to Youtube. I would take $2000 and put up a sweepstake lottery comeptition, in a winner takes all edition. The winner gets a $1000 gift card, and I would advertise this competition for $1000 worth of ads on Facebook. To win, you need to visit the previously mentioned blogs and find certain clues.

We have now spent $7000 and gotten out the word about ourselfs and out product. Now is the time to go over what worked best and what underperformed and set it in comparison with it's costs. Then we still have plenty of money to spend on those parts that worked best for us, maybe even recruit a few affiliates on different forums, offering them a $100 sign up bonus, after they deliver a few sales to get the word out and diversify our traffic even more.

At least 30% of that would go to high-quality backlinks, and the rest toward ventures like YouTube promoted videos. If you're lucky, you're in a niche that doesn't have a very strong presence on YouTube promoted videos. This would allow you to snag views (which then convert into traffic to your site) for literally pennies. That would be a great use of money to me, especially because as the video grows, it naturally becomes more visible on YouTube's search anyway. So it's sort of a snowball.
