I'm not starving. I just wrote that so you would come in here and help me.

Okay I have a forum and I put ads at the bottom. Now I don't earn anything from them. Like $0.50 average per day. And I was wondering how I could earn a bit more. Like $2 per day on average or more.

Now I know I could put ads at the top. But will it make the forum look ugly?

Please help me out. Thanks.

Yeah I was thinking about that too. I'll try that. I don't think it will look too ugly. Like match the colors and stuff.

I would suggest if you want to achieve better results, try replacing the top Ad unit with a paragraph of content follow by a horizontal link unit (allow some margin between these two elements).

 

Do you know if people actually click link units?

 

why don't you build your ads within the posts, i.e. when someone posts, it creates a second post with adsense

 

That's ugly and annoying. Like I could put link units after posts. But ad units are too much.

.50 cents on how many clicks...if it is on a lot of clicks...then your niche must be the problem...i think number of clicks should be the baseline on saying that a site is bad or not, and not the dollars...

ads at the top fold always is very effective even though it can be ugly at times....
