You get TRASH for what you pay for - Registerfly

People often say "You get what you pay for". I always rarely stand by that statement, I have seen companys bust their butts to provide quality work. I don't like paying that extra dollar knowing their is some CEO riding around in their brand new car enjoying life and getting the same exact quality. But I'm MORE then willing to pay a few extra dollars at Godaddy then to get such TRASH from registerfly.

From the start at Registerfly I have had nothing but troubles. But hey, $.60 for a .INFO is hard to pass up! So I registered two, with only 15-30minutes of troubles. I had to keep logging in(multiple times), Errors(multiple times), re-registering(even after it took money out of my paypal, thank God I wasn't double charged.), and long wait periods between the errors and logging issues.

Finally after I get that all figured out I was happy I got TWO .INFO for only $1.20.

Now, I try to switch the nameservers to the sweet Godaddy and it logs me out. Then I relog back in and it gives me an error "You can not directly link to this page". Okay, nice error... Then I go back to TRYING to switch the name servers and it pops up showing me something about use the Registerfly name servers and thats it. Finally after messing around on their error and slow loading site I FINALLY get the name servers switched! It says it takes 12-24 hours to set up. My guess is I'll be back trying to set it up due to some stupid error.

Another HUGE thing I love about Godaddy is the support they provide. This companys support is ran by.... no one or possibly a staff of 3? On top of that their "Live chat" RARELY works. I have tried over 20 times to enter it and it just refreshes the page. Okay, whatever another error, I'll just call their support. They show 24/7 support but their phone support isn't 24/7 nor is billing, only Sales. But you can set up a support ticket and I'm sure they'll get back to you in ... um, when their tech support comes in? Plus email text support sucks especially if you are new to all this or have multiple questions and questions to answers you recieve(Question 1. Why does your service suck? A: We try are hardest. Question 2. How hard is this hardest? Mondays-I-don't-want-to-goto-work hardest?)

Okay, sorry to complain but I don't want others to get trapped into their crap system. I wish I would of took the advice I read about how much regfly sucks.

If you are looking for the worse host please check out RegisterFly!

Kinda bad for me..have 40 domains :( I am going to get into debt to just transfer them out :(
When transferring domains out of the registrar you will have to need the Authorization Code for your domain names. Also, you won't be able to transfer the domain out unless it is been registered for more 60 days. And make sure you unlock the domain first.
So far the cheapest I found for transferring is DomainSite which is $6.99 per domain.

I've been with registerfly.com sinse December 2003 no complaints here. I put 9.95 in with paypal. Then relogged-in and used that plus the ballance to pay for my .com + .info.

No serious problems were encountered. I never had any major issues with them.

    Thanks,

Wow, sorry to hear that... $280 is so much. I would try to press legal issues against them also put a complaint in at the BBB too. I'm sure there are other places also. A company can not offer such crap like they do and get away with it.

Me personally, I only have 2 domains so my 14 dollar complaint isn't going to look impressive in a complaint.

ivnj, I wish I was with you. $.60 per .info is a beauty. Sadly they offered me such crap I can not accept $.60 per .info

Every company has issues. If you google godaddy problems there are plenty of people not happy with them either.

But I'm not saying I've been 100% problem free. But customer service is always been friendly. I got refunded when need be and charged when need be. I just call or use live web support and they always help.

And a lot of people like them too despite a lot of complaints. So nobody's perfect. But overall their OK.

    Thanks,

Do a search around and you will find many complaints about Registerfly. I personally do not use them, and judging by what people say about them, wouldn't recommend anybody to use them either

I think, as long as you realize that you are getting what you are paying for, and factor this in, you'll be ok.

Sure it takes a little while for nameservers to propegate, sure their admin panel is crap.

But once you've set it up, you can leave it, and not have any other worries.

The only problems i have ever had with them is the difficulty in the initial domain registration, and bugs with nameserver changes etc...

Trust me I have had my problems with Godaddy also.

    1. Tech support once told me they had no idea what the problem was and couldn't fix it. So I hung up and called back and spoke to someone who knew what they was doing.

    2. My site was shut down due to poor coding that "could get the network hacked". I called up and asked that the problem was and they told me the exact line where the coding was that they had a problem with but would NOT tell me how to fix it nor direct me towards somewhere to fix it. VERY stupid. So I just tried a different code and it worked.

But honestly, I'd rather go through them stupid problems then to deal with regfly again.

Never had problem with GoDaddy :p Though your problems are kinda funny (no offense at all).
 I don't know if I really have to move out all my domains (I could buy a 3 char .com them than to move all my domains :( )
And yeah, RegisterFly is like..full of bugs I guess. Though, I just get my domains registered, parked and done. Opened 2 tickets (both technical problems) Both were responded within 24 - 48 hours. Though their live online chat NEVER works (for me anyway) But yeah, I will rather pay more or go with GoDaddy rather than RegisterFly when I need to register domains.

You seem to be very on defend mode for RegisterFly. I don't have problem with it. So not against it either. And yes you are right about every registrar having complains. Though I just don't like why people don't list the date the praise is posted (no, I am not referring to RegisterFly, just as in general)
    :)

I don't work for them. I just don't have any problems with them. So I'm just surprised that so many people have issues with them. I mean if they're so bad why haven't they been shut down.

I'd love to try somebody new like 1and1 and godaddy and domainsarefree.com just to see. But I just have no experience with them.

I've also used this but was unhappy. It's been a few years so maybe they've changed.

The last time I had anything to do with aplus.net was probably 1 years ago or so when I didn't know about other domain registrar at all. And don't know why I picked it. After my domain expired (which I didn't plan to renew or anything) They spam my mailbox all over. It was like receiving a spam mail every single day, sometimes even 2 mail a day. And had to block them eventually. But since I was too new, so didn't do anything at all after blocked them :p

1and1 has a lot of complains as well and the transfer even within 1and1 isn't free either. Though I have a few domains registered at 1and1.com and have no problem so far.

I never recieved spam from aplus.net.

And www.domainsarefree.com says transfers are free to anywhere else if I do it 40 days before they expire.

    Thanks,
