Which were you experiences wit Windows Millenium?

I have it installed on one of my computers (an old one) which doesn't have internet acces and only use it to run 1 software (a very weird one that only works with Windows ME). It's a pain in the ass: Even Wordpad crashes from time to time.

    What about you?

I used Windows ME for a couple of years or so until I replaced it with XP. The only real problem I had with it was lack of compatibility with various applications. Sometimes I wanted to acquire new software, but I couldn't because it wouldn't run under ME. And more than one technical person told me ME was a mistake -- it should never have been released. Personally...I think you should purge ME from your systems. It's not worth it.

I bought a computer that was loaded with ME back in 2001, it was quite possibly the worst operating system I have ever used. I upgraded to XP the day it came out (which was a big no no for Microsoft products back then). My recommendation is the wipe it clean and install xp, your experience will improve 10 fold.

I absolutely hate Windows ME, I've had it for a week then almost through my computer out the window. I love XP, and barely have any issues with it. ME just froze alot, seemed like a resource hog, and locked up constantly.

Windows ME is to Windows what MS-DOS 4.0 was to DOS.

I was thinking more along the lines of how unforgettable MS-DOS 4.0 was (most people moved from 3.3 to 5.0). By the same token, most people moved from Win98 to Win2000 or WinXP. I'm not aware of any problems with MS-DOS 4.0 per se, just that I don't recall ever using a computer that had it installed. I have used Windows ME though, which was basically Windows 98 with the Windows 2000 icons. :p

I've read and heard many rants about ME. I have no complaints other than M stopped supporting it (as far as I can tell).

But it's been good for me. It runs very fast and doesn't need a lotta memory to run fast. I like the way it shuts down, takes about 10 seconds.

There's been a couple compatibility issues with other software but no big deal.
